"Models, Models, Everywhere... let's all stop and think..." 06/24/2013

Ok... to every modeling page on Facebook... y'all need to quit y'all bullshit. You want us to believe in your message of beauty and expression of oneself... HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU DO THAT WHEN YOU CONSTANTLY HAVE THESE PHOTOGRAPHERS OVER-PHOTOSHOP YOUR MODELS' PHOTOS?!??!?!?!?

If I wanted to look through a gallery of a doll shop because I have a weird affliction for curvy chicks, skinny chicks, pregnant LOOKING chicks, confused chicks, scared chicks, and completely uncomfortable chicks, I would send great donations to Mattel and have them make a new series: INSECURE BARBIE, NOW WITH THIRSTY ASS NIGGA KEN! <-(and in some cases, Kenisha!)

How can you develop a true perspective of what beauty is if it is constantly altered to a point where these once beautiful women have become plastic dolls? Answer me that one. If you need to alter so much of a person to a point where they look like they were factory made to please a crowd that is only pushed deep into the end result rather than the process... you need to use different models... OR GET BETTER PHOTOGRAPHERS!  These are the updated mannequins of today and will be forever into our future and everyone appears pleased with this.

I don't have a problem with viewing photos that look enhanced... but enhanced and DIFFERENT are complete opposites as one implies that it's just you with makeup versus "fake-up". <-("As Told By Ginger" reference... yes... I loved that show... shut up!) I have seen some of these models in person and they look so much more beautiful when someone truly has faith in their natural line of beauty. Blemish removal is one thing... but a lot of you have gone through the "Face-Off" process: same person underneath, different person on the surface. And you're pleased with this?

I want to say that I'm not! Believing someone's dream of "a beautiful world" shouldn't entail the complete alteration of your personal identity. It defeats the entire purpose when you have no reason to go through this change... unless you are comfortable lying to yourself in order to feel great about yourself... and how do you feel great when your actual thighs still breakthrough that shoddy job of a retouch and I can still see the waves, dimples, and cellulite of your reality seeping through? You could have worn skin colored leggings for that kind of struggle... rather than wear a thong and say, "I'm so sexy" then have someone create your definition of sexy... and fail.

All of this brings me to one question:

Is your self-esteem all you care about? If so, lie to yourself, but that doesn't exonerate you from the truth. As long as you understand that... "MODEL" away.
